HAITI’S ANIMALS: WE HEAR THEIR CRIES….HELP IS COMING

1/15/10 – KINSHIP CIRCLE ANIMAL DISASTER AID NETWORK
Haiti’s Animals: We Hear Their Cries…Help Is Coming

Kinship Circle Joins Coalition For Animal Victims In Haiti Quake
And We Need Your Help!

Many of you have asked how to help animals in earthquake ravaged Haiti. Now there is a simple way.

We are happy to announce that Kinship Circle is part of a unified response effort called the Animal Relief Coalition Of Haiti (ARCH). Under the leadership of the World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA) and the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW), we will keep you informed about endeavors to save Haiti’s animal earthquake victims.

We’ve joined forces with professional animal protection organizations to help stricken animals. As a coalition member, we are seeking
donations to fund “feet on the ground,” as well as the overhead involved for communications and coverage in photos and notes from the field.

Please send whatever you can today, earmarked for ARCH. If you donate to Kinship Circle right now, you are donating to animal relief in Haiti:

January 12, 2010 changed everything for the small Caribbean nation of Haiti. A 7.0 magnitude earthquake collided with its capital, Port-au-Prince. Human casualties are already estimated in the tens of thousands, as the cries of people trapped beneath concrete begin to fade.

Task forces and troops are assembling worldwide to aid Haiti’s human victims. But Kinship Circle followers also want to know about the animals. The breadth of destruction in this disaster has been compared to Katrina. Still, animal repercussions are different.

As many as 5 million farm animals (primarily goats and a lot of chickens!) and native wild animals need help. A mostly homeless dog population, struggling to survive before the earthquake, needs comforting hands. In fact an unknown number of “community” cats and dogs await relief.

There cannot be a dedicated animal presence on the ground until the human crisis is more stabilized. However, Kinship Circle is contributing funding and volunteer support to the coalition right now.

Please help us help Haiti’s forgotten ones…
We’ve already made an initial pledge. Can you help us raise funds quickly?
